Calistoga and the Napa Valley wine country offer many wonderful things to do and see. Below are some terrific attractions located close to the inn. During your visit, we’d be happy to recommend additional activities that best fit your interests and budget. Ca’ toga Galleria D’ Arte (707-942-3900). Marvel at the incredibly expressive murals and other art pieces at this unusual art gallery in downtown Calistoga. Featuring the exclusive works of artist Carlo Marchiori, the gallery offers a wide variety of pieces, including ceiling murals, wall decorations, folding screens, acrylic paintings, watercolors, ceramic plates, bowls and tiles, painted furniture, art objects, sculptures, and cast stone garden ornaments Crazy Creek Gliders (707-987-9112) Enjoy an airborne thrill and a most unique view of wine country from the inside of a glider. Crazy Creek offers flights for one or two persons from 15 to 40 minutes in length. Downtown Calistoga. Stroll the streets of Calistoga’s main drag stopping in the many stores and cafes. Coffee shops and lunch spots abound, as well as gourmet restaurants. From women’s boutiques, to shoe stores, to art stores, to bath and body stores and more this town has it all. Old Faithful Geyser (707-942-6463). Calistoga’s Old Faithful Geyser is a fun stop that appeals to the whole family. One of three geysers in the world with the designation "old faithful," the geyser erupts at regular intervals. Petrified Forest (707-942-6667). Follow the trails at this unique forest to see majestic redwoods preserved and petrified years ago by a volcanic eruption. Geologists call this attraction one of the finest examples of a Pliocene fossil forest in the world. Don’t miss the Meadow Walk, a guided walking tour of the Petrified Forest's spectacular upper meadow. Robert Louis Stevenson State Park (707-942-4575). This beautiful park is the place where the famous author of Treasure Island and Kidnapped spent his honeymoon in 1880. One of the best hiking spots in the area, the trail to the top of Mount St. Helena provides unsurpassed views over the Napa Valley and down into the Bay Area. Safari West. (800-616-2695). Home to over 400 exotic mammals and birds, Safari West is more than a zoo or drive-through park it's a wildlife preserve where you can experience some of nature's most beautiful animals in a natural habitat. Enjoy a three-hour adventure led by one of Safari West’s resident naturalists. Vincent Arroyo Winery (707-942-6995). Located around the corner from the inn, Vincent Arroyo offers terrific red wines and a bit of entertainment, as well. Arroyo’s black Labrador, JJ, often delights visitors with her antics including scaling the wine barrels for a dog. |
